These bikers are the number one and number two bikers in the nation at the time of the photograph. The one in the lead, Harry, is concentrating with all his might to stay in front as they near the finish line, however he is not nervous - he's excited. The second, Bob, is concentrating even harder. He knows that he and harry have pretty even records, and he has a chance at beating him. Pedaling with all his might, he comes up next to Bob and finishes just barely in front of him. Bob is taken by surprise since he had figured he would win, since they were so close to the finish line when he was ahead. Harry learns that he can't take his lead for granted and slack when he is in front, and Bob learns that he can do most things if he puts his mind to them, even in a situation that seems impossible. The two bikers use this race to increase their skills in the future - Harry uses it to higher his bar and Bob uses it as a push for a winning streak.
